Q: “Denise, my husband and I have a real estate business together and we have decided it is time to develop a brand. We both have a background in the financial industry. I began in real estate about five years ago and my husband just recently joined me. We are tapping into this database of our clients and want to tell our story visually. The challenge is, we have very different ideas about what that means. We can’t agree on colors, fonts, layouts, style, or anything! I am getting very discouraged and don’t think we will come to a final product that will suit us both. Where do you suggest we go from here?”
A: This is a challenge for many of the couples and teams we work with. However, rest assured that when you work with us, it is our job to solve those problems for you. We find common ground, listen, and then provide solutions that will work for all parties. Each side may have to give and take, but more often than not, we find ways to make sure that each side doesn’t feel like they are settling. We want each side to be excited about the final product and be excited to use it day in and day out in their business.
The design firm that you are working with should be comfortable taking the lead and advocating for the solutions they think will meet the team’s goals.
