Q: “Denise, I have had a number of my clients review me on Zillow, but I also want those reviews to be on Yelp, REALTOR.com, and Facebook. Can I just copy and paste?”

In a short answer, no. Each client needs to review you individually and rate you from their own account. If your goal is to get more reviews in more places, I suggest sending an email (yes, an email) to your past clients who have not yet reviewed you and send links to all the profiles they may review you on so they can choose the one that works best for you.

For example, it might look something like this:

Dear Past Client,

I hope you are feeling all settled in to your new home! If there are any problems, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

In the meantime, I am hoping you can help me. By providing feedback and reviewing my services, you will help me become a better agent. Would you please take just a moment to rate my services on the profile you are most comfortable with? Here are the options:

• Facebook
• Yelp
• Google

(of course, you would be including links to your REALTOR and Zillow profile links in here as well)

Now, getting the review is just part one. The second part is responding to each and every review that is left on the platforms which allow you to do that. For example, Zillow allows you to do this. By responding to each review, that sends a strong message to the reader. First, it shows that you are detail-oriented and that client care is very important to you. Second, it shows that you are paying attention to your systems and processes. Third, it allows you a forum to easily set the record straight if someone gives you a bad review.

If you get one or two reviews on one platform and you really want to use it elsewhere, consider adding a little section to your bio that includes the quotes.

If you haven’t incorporated a letter like this into your post closing process, I suggest you do it now. Getting some good reviews can be confidence-building!
